Max Homa returned to form in style this week at The Masters.
Homa has been in the golfing doldrums for far too long now, so his fine effort at The Masters this week was very welcome indeed.
The 35-year-old from California has not won since January 2023 and he has fallen outside of the top-100 in the world rankings.
However, a top-12 finish at The Masters 12 months ago meant that Homa received an invite to return to Augusta National this year.
Max Homa said Augusta National was playing easy on day three of The Masters, but he made it look even easier on Sunday.
He fired a superb round of 67 to put himself inside the top 10 at the time of writing.
Homa carded three birdies, an eagle and 14 pars on Sunday at Augusta National, and that should be enough to earn him another entry into The Masters next year.
He spoke to reporters after his final round on Sunday and responded when asked whether any memories from The Masters in 2024 came flooding back to him,

*â*Yeah, 12, thatâs where Iâll have my biggest regret of my career most likely.
*â*So Iâve just played that hole a lot more aggressively and hit a beautiful one in there today.
*â*I donât know, I feel like the last couple years I played it very passively, especially the par-5s, and itâs worked fine, but this year I played them much different.
âI was proud of the way I â I donât know, I guess I just believed in myself on those tee shots and just took them on.â
Homa finished in a tie for third at The Masters two years ago.
However, he made a double bogey five on the 12th hole after finding the water with his tee shot.
At the time, that cost him any chance of winning the golf tournament.
Homa has now admitted that his tee shot on the 12th hole on Sunday at The Masters in 2024 was the biggest regret of his entire career.
Hopefully his final round 67 this year, along with the steady par he made on 12, will give him some closure on the matter.
Max Homa stated that he has a significant regret related to his performance, though the specific details of the regret were not disclosed.
