Magic host Hornets in a must-win play-in tournament game!
The transfer portal in basketball is highly competitive, with some teams like Louisville reportedly spending nearly $10 million on new players. Ole Miss is actively seeking talent for both its men's and women's teams, focusing on strategic acquisitions rather than overspending.

The transfer portal in basketball is just as nuts as it is in football. Perhaps even more since there are less roster spots demanding a bigger piece of the pie. Hell, itâs been reported that the Louisville men just paid two guys almost $10 million combined to come there.
I am not sure if the Ole Miss men and women basketball teams even have $10 million combined between the two of them, but thatâs not stopping them from going portal shopping. Coach Yo has been aggressive early bringing in players who may not wow you on paper, but she knows what she wants and needs. The menâs portal is just a big bidding war, so the Rebels wonât be in a hurry to overspend.

Louisville reportedly spent almost $10 million combined to acquire two new players from the transfer portal.
Ole Miss is focusing on strategic acquisitions that meet specific team needs rather than overspending in the competitive transfer market.
The basketball transfer portal is seen as more competitive due to fewer roster spots, which increases the demand for available talent and drives up bidding wars among teams.
