Things aren't going well for the New York Mets.
They're actually going so poorly that SNY color commentator Todd Zeile got the chance to say Friday night, "They can't even break the bat correctly right now."
Zeile's comment, a hilarious one, came after Francisco Alvarez struck out against the Los Angeles Angels.
As Alvarez walked back to the dugout, he tried to do the move where he snapped his bat directly over his knee.
It seems like plenty of hitters have proven capable of pulling this off.

Instead, when Alvarez's bat gets to his leg, it stays firm. No snap at all.
If anything, that probably made the whole moment even more frustrating.

From a physics perspective, this surely has a lot to do with the angle, the force and even the exact composition of the bat.
But from a vibes perspective, this is such a Mets moment. When it rains, it pours, and it rains often on the Mets' parade.
Alvarez could still turn it around, have himself a great season and get the Mets in better shape, too.
For now, though, even a bat snap over the knee can go awry for these Mets.
