The New York Mets are going through some major struggles this season. They're 10-20 on the year with the worst record in all of Major League Baseball.
Even though Juan Soto just came back from the injured list, Francisco Lindor and now Luis Robert Jr. are out for some time. Things aren't going well for the Mets at all.
And in a cruel twist of fate, Soto should've had a home run if it weren't for James Wood of the Washington Nationals, who's a rare 6-foot-6, and the wind during their most recent game.
"Not only is James Wood the 2nd-tallest RF after Aaron Judge at 6'6'', but per @WeatherApplied, Juan Soto's robbed HR here was blown in 3 feet (and 6 feet right) by the wind and would've cleared the fence about 4 feet higher in calm conditions," shared.

"Soto was robbed by height and the weather."
The Mets outfielder should've hit a home run to right field, but with the wind blowing in just enough and Wood being just tall enough, his homer was robbed.
A perfect confluence of things had to go wrong for Soto to miss out on this homer, and both happened at the worst possible time.
Soto should've had his fourth homer of the season, but as is the case for the Mets this season, he got unlucky.
It wasn't a cheap robbery either, as the ball clearly would've gone out had Wood not caught it. And if the wind wasn't going as crazy during his hit or Wood wasn't the outfielder in right, then the Mets might not have lost.
Nothing seems to be going right for the Mets this season, and this is a perfect example of how much bad luck they've had.
