DENVER — There could be more snowballs than baseballs flying around Coors Field over the next two days with the Mets and Rockies looking to wrap up their three-game series.
According to Accuweather, rain is set to mix with snow throughout Tuesday afternoon and into the early evening before changing over to snow around 8 p.m. local time.
The U.S. National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for Denver, with four to eight inches of snow expected to accumulate between late Tuesday night and early afternoon Wednesday.
As a result, Tuesday's Mets-Rockies game has been postponed and rescheduled for Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday's game, which was scheduled for 3:10 p.m., has been moved to 9:20 p.m.
The Mets and Rockies had a mutual off day on Thursday as Accuweather is calling for a sunny skies with high temperatures in the mid-60s.
The Mets are traveling to face the Diamondbacks for a three-game series beginning Friday, while the Rockies head east to play the Phillies the same day.
The Mets and Rockies also moved up their game three hours on Monday night before some rain drifted into Denver. The Mets secured the win in the series opener, 4-2.
It is far from the first time that the Mets have had a series in Denver interrupted by snow. Back on May 20, 2022, the Mets and Rockies had the first game of their series postponed due to snow in the area. One season earlier in 2021, the Mets and Rockies had an April 16 game postponed after between four and seven inches of snow fell in Denver.
