MIAMI GARDENS — The Miami Dolphins selected guard DJ Campbell in the sixth round of the NFL Draft.

The pick, No. 200 overall, was acquired in a trade with the Carolina Panthers.

Campbell was rated as one of the nation's top 10 overall prospects coming out of high school.
He was third-team All-SEC last season, when he started all 13 games at right guard.
Campbell also was a starter at right guard in 2023 and 2024 for the Longhorns.
Scouts cite his durability and long arms (34 1/4 inches) that make up for his lack of height. They say he needs to work on blocking when isolated in space.
NFL.com's Lance Zierlein wrote, "Three-year starter at right guard with experience against NFL-caliber talent. Campbell is tough, strong and smart, but there are clear athletic limitations that create scheme-dependence and could limit his upside. He lacks functional bend and fluidity in space, which limits his range. He’s adept as a second-phase run blocker, with enough technique to neutralize and sustain in-line. He can also drop a sudden anchor to slow bull rushers. Campbell projects as a gap-scheme guard who can provide depth."
Campbell and second-year man are among the options the Dolphins have at guard, but the position also depends on whether they move a tackle (Austin Jackson?) to the interior.
DJ Campbell is a guard selected by the Miami Dolphins in the sixth round of the NFL Draft.
DJ Campbell was selected as the 200th overall pick in the NFL Draft.
The Miami Dolphins drafted three players from Texas this year, including DJ Campbell.
