Michael Owen says exactly who Liverpool need to replace Mohamed Salah
Liverpool's choice to replace Mohamed Salah in the summer could define their entire season.
The Egyptian King has been one of the Reds' best-ever players with his performances often single-handedly earning Liverpool points.
This term, things haven't quite gone to plan which has led to the mutual termination of his deal a year before it's actually up.
Although this may seem like a massive financial blow for the Anfield outfit, the fact that they won't be spending £20 million on his wages next term sort of makes up for it.
However, since the Reds were already wanting to bring in a new attacker ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, they now need to find at least two players who can improve their ranks.
And now, Michael Owen has pinpointed exactly who he thinks Liverpool should try and sign to replace their star man.
For the last few years, Jarrod Bowen has been consistently linked with an Anfield switch.
Indeed, with the club taking a bit of a different direction when Arne Slot took the helm.
Michael Owen has not specified a particular player in the excerpt, but he emphasizes the importance of finding the right replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Replacing Mohamed Salah is crucial because he has been one of Liverpool's best players, often single-handedly securing points for the team.
The excerpt suggests that Salah's performances this season have not met expectations, leading to the mutual termination of his deal a year early.
The choice of Salah's replacement could define Liverpool's entire season, impacting their overall performance and success.

However, with West Ham United now battling it out for Premier League survival with Tottenham Hotspur, it's clear that relegation could be a massive opportunity for the other Premier League teams.
Of course, Tottenham going down would give them many more options to explore but, according to former Liverpool player Owen, Bowen is the only man who he sees as the perfect replacement for Salah.
"Now, obviously, Jarrod Bowen’s a legend of a player, West Ham, you know, adore the man, and rightly so," he said to talkSPORT.
"But, if West Ham went down, he would fit for me.
"I think he’s absolutely brilliant.
"I was lucky enough to do like a striking master class for a TV show we did last season with him, and I couldn’t believe it.
"Honestly, left foot, right foot, bang, bang, corners, pace. I mean, a real top finisher.
"I think he’s a brilliant player. I would be taking him to the World Cup, and, as I say, you know, I don’t want to upset West Ham fans, but if they went down, then he would be my idea of somebody to replace Salah."
Even though Bowen may be 29 years old, he'd still be an unreal signing for Liverpool.
The Englishman has easily been the Hammers' best player over the last few seasons and, if they go down, he'd probably be available for a cut-rate fee.
Of course, other clubs will also be vying for his transfer but, with the Reds' long-standing interest well documented, it's hard to see why they'd let him go anywhere else without a fight.
He's also already Premier League proven and the fact that he can play as a striker or a winger is a massive bonus.
Although he wouldn't be a long-term solution due to his age, the fact that he's scored 10 goals and got 11 assists this term while playing for West Ham is fairly impressive.
Here's hoping that the London-based club go down so that they'll be forced to sell their star man, otherwise, Liverpool could have a bit of a problem on their hands.
