Decision day still hasn't arrived for Aaron Rodgers, who is still debating whether he will return to the Pittsburgh Steelers for his 22nd NFL season. It's anyone's guess whether the four-time NFL MVP laces up the cleats again in 2026 and don't expect his teammates to know either – especially Michael Pittman Jr.
The newest Steelers receiver sat down for an interview with USA TODAY Sports' Tyler Dragon, where he was asked about Rodgers and whether he expects the quarterback to return.
"Honestly I have no expectations," Pittman said, who took the opportunity to look back on his career.
"Think back to my history back in Indy," he added. "So much quarterback turnover, this and that. I just roll with the punches. Whatever happens, happens."
While Pittman didn't have any indication about Rodgers' playing future, he did speak to the quarterback about things other than football.
"I actually had the opportunity to talk to him in Orange County a couple weeks back," Pittman said. "To everybody's surprise, it had nothing to do with football. ... I was just talking to him to see how he's feeling, just about life and everything. I think if Aaron wants to come back, I'm not going to be the one to be able to change his mind anyway."

Of course, that lack of quarterback clarity could present a problem heading into the 2026 NFL Draft.
Rodgers didn't sign until June last offseason, something team owner Art Rooney II was expecting to avoid this time around.
“I still expect that,” Rooney told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Gerry Dulac on March 29 at the annual league meeting in Arizona. “I expect we’ll get an answer before the draft.
“When I talked to him and Omar [Khan] talked to him, he told us he wasn’t going to take as long this year as he did last year [to make a decision],” Rooney said. “I’m not 100% sure what that means, but I expect something before the draft.”
It's unclear whether the Steelers have officially presented Rodgers with a contract offer or set a deadline, but Pittman doesn't seem worried about the team's quarterback situation right now.
"We're fortunate that we have two other guys who are really talented," Pittman said. "Mason [Rudolph] has been in Pittsburgh for I think eight years and then they draft Will Howard last year."
"Definitely in good hands and we'll see what happens."
