Training camp officially begins in less than two weeks on Thursday, May 21. The final squad, which will have 12 players, is expected to be announced before the team departs for the 2026 FIBA U18 AmeriCup, set for June 1-7 in Leon, Mexico.
Last year, Michigan's Morez Johnson Jr. starred on the gold medal winning U19 team in Switzerland, while L.J. Cason was one of a few dozen players to tryout for the team, but did not make the final roster. U-M's incoming guard Trey McKenney had a chance to try out for the team as well, but he opted to go straight to Ann Arbor to get acclimated with the program.
