I think it's safe to say that Michigan State basketball fans do not care for LSU head coach Will Wade. For the second year in a row, Wade has managed to lure a Michigan State starting shooting guard into the transfer portal. Of course, last year, it happened at a different school, NC State, where Wade managed to land Tre Holloman in the portal, frustrating and disappointing many Spartan fans. Ironically, this year, Wade, who left NC State in the dust after flaming out in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, managed to land the player MSU added last year to replace Holloman. On Thursday, Divine Ugochukwu committed to transfer to LSU, joining Wade in his second stint with the Tigers. After the news broke, Michigan State fans erupted on social media. Some were mad that Ugochukwu was leaving for LSU, but most were frustrated that Divine was also lured by Wade, a decision that many didn't feel worked out for Tre Holloman, a player who was beloved in his time at MSU. You can see how they reacted below:
I remember the last time an MSU guard transferred to a Will Wade team smh.
Poor divine

â SpartansCountry (@spartanscountry) May 7, 2026 divine ugochukwu really watched will wade tank tre hollomanâs career and said âyeah, I want thatâ
â Connor Meltdowney (@Connormuldowney) May 7, 2026 I wonder if THIS backup PG & potential starting SG who transfers from MSU to play for Will Wade will ALSO "finally have a coach who believes in him" only to regret the decision & blow up my phone all season long to express his regrets about said transfer.

Fans are frustrated because Ugochukwu is transferring to a team coached by Will Wade, who previously led another MSU player, Tre Holloman, to a disappointing experience.
Many fans expressed anger and disappointment, fearing that Ugochukwu might face similar challenges as Tre Holloman did under Wade.
