The Michigan womenâs basketball team, coming off a record-setting campaign, will host national powerhouse UConn next season as part of a home-and-home series.
UConn, which has won a dozen national titles but lost in the national semifinals earlier this month, will play Michigan at Crisler Center on Nov. 5, the program announced Wednesday. This will be the first time UConn has played in the state of Michigan.
Guard Syla Swords (12) and the Wolverines have agreed to a home-and-home series with UConn that will start next season in Ann Arbor.
Michigan will play UConn in the return game in Connecticut during the 2027-28 season, making it three straight years the two teams will square off. The Wolverines and Huskies faced each other last season on a neutral court, with UConn winning, 72-69, at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut.

Michigan won 28 games last season, tying a single-season program record, and went on to reach the Elite Eight. The Wolverinesâ 24 regular-season wins were a program record and their 15-3 Big Ten record was also a program best. They were 17-1 at home, with the only loss coming to eventual national champion UCLA, and Michigan set program records for total points (2,880) and scoring average (82.3 points per game).
Michigan will host UConn on November 5 next season.
This will be the first time UConn has played in the state of Michigan.
UConn won the last matchup against Michigan 72-69 on a neutral court at Mohegan Sun.

Michigan returns its top five scorers from last season's Elite Eight team: Oliva Olson (18.9 points), Syla Swords (14.6 points), Mila Holloway (12.3 points), TeâYala Delfosse (8.7 points) and Ashley Sofilkanich (7.7 points).
