The Pittsburgh Steelers are preparing for the NFL Draft with uncertainty at quarterback, potentially selecting Ty Simpson in the first round. Coach Mike McCarthy may also prioritize adding offensive weapons like receiver Denzel Boston, while some mock drafts suggest focusing on defense or the offensive line.

The Pittsburgh Steelers are a fascinating watch as the NFL Draft approaches, with the franchise in flux at the quarterback position.
With Aaron Rodgers still not giving an indication as to what his plans are, some mock drafts have the Steelers taking Ty Simpson in the first-round.
Others have the Steelers going defense or offensive line to help fortify both sides of the ball for Mike McCarthy. But given he's an offensive-minded coach, the Steelers could look to give McCarthy more weapons to work with.
And for NFL.com's Mike Band, that's exactly what he does in his latest mock, with receiver Denzel Boston coming to the AFC North.
"Pittsburgh can justify going offensive line here, but with Mike McCarthy now shaping the offense and the Steelers still looking for another long-term answer in the receiver room, Boston feels like a logical pivot," Band wrote. "He gives them a big, physical outside target who can win through contact and complement DK Metcalf and Michael Pittman Jr. without forcing the offense to change its identity."

It all starts and stops with Rodgers, and the fact that we don't have a decision months after the season has ended is a little odd, but people take their time with decisions like this.
But it has left the Steelers in the dark, as if Rodgers had made it clear earlier about his 2026 intentions, maybe someone likeĀ Kirk Cousins could have been signed.
Now, Will Howard and Mason Rudolph are the two quarterbacks McCarthy is working with, and we can add Rodgers if he does return.
In truth, I get the feeling Pittsburgh already has some idea of what Rodgers will do, and if he does return and this mock plays out in real time, he'll have three good weapons to throw to in 2026.
The Steelers are considering quarterback Ty Simpson and receiver Denzel Boston among other prospects as they prepare for the NFL Draft.
While some mock drafts suggest the Steelers may focus on defense or the offensive line, there is a strong possibility they will prioritize offensive weapons to support Coach Mike McCarthy.
As an offensive-minded coach, Mike McCarthy's vision may lead the Steelers to seek additional offensive talent, particularly in the receiver position, to enhance their game plan.
