Mike Trout and the Los Angeles Angels hit four home runs, including three consecutive in the first inning, to defeat the New York Yankees 7-1. Trout's performance ties him for the MLB record for most back-to-back-to-back home run sequences.
The Angels wasted no time to grab a multi-run lead over the Yankees on Tuesday. Los Angeles hit three consecutive home runs at the top of the first inning. Trout, then right fielder Jo Adell, then designated hitter Jorge Soler all sent the ball over the fence to mark the first three of four home runs Yankees starting pitcher Ryan Weathers would give up during his five-inning outing.

Weathers had not given up a home run in 11.2 innings going into his start on Tuesday. In addition to breaking Weathersā clean home run streak, the trio of homers was the sixth time Trout had been involved in a back-to-back-to-back home run sequence. He is now tied with Henry Aaron, Adrian Beltre, JD Drew and Frank J. Thomas for the MLB record, according to MLBās Sarah Langs.
