Mike Trout Passes Garret Anderson for Franchise XBH Record

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Mike Trout broke the franchise record for extra base hits with his ninth homer of the season Sunday. Trout’s homer was his 797th career extra base hit, and he passed Garret Anderson’s previous record of 796—which he tied with a homer last Wednesday. In addition to that record, Trout holds the franchise records for runs, home runs, walks, intentional walks and hit by pitches.

He hit 522 doubles, 36 triples and 287 homers, and still holds the franchise record for RBIs with 1,292. Trout is off to an incredible start to the 2026 season, posting a .960 OPS through 28 games with nine homers and 20 RBIs. He has also drawn 29 walks, which is the second most in MLB. He has been an invaluable piece of the Angels’ offense to kick off the season, and is sure to continue contributing throughout the remainder of the regular season.
