In a moment of surprising honesty, Milwaukee Bucks star Myles Turner revealed the chaos former head coach Doc Rivers allowed during the 2025-26 season. Including preferential treatment for franchise legend Giannis Antetokounmpo.
To the frustration of Bucks fans, their favorite NBA team was a mess this past season. Despite using a ton of money to cut ties with Damian Lillard after rupturing his Achilles tendon last spring and signing Turner in free agency, Milwaukee won just 32 games in 2025-26. It was their first sub-40 win total in a decade.
As of now, Rivers is taking the fall for their awful performance and was fired last month. Some NBA pundits have suggested Antetokounmpoâs injury woes and the front office deserve a lot of the blame. However, new comments from Turner following his first season in Milwaukee suggest that ousting Rivers will make a big difference because he allowed a wildly unprofessional situation this past season.
During a new edition of his Game Recognize Game podcast with New York Liberty star Breanna Stewart, Turnerâs co-host asked him about fines for the Bucks, because she gets them often on her current team.
Myles Turner described the locker room as chaotic and criticized former coach Doc Rivers for allowing unprofessional behavior and giving preferential treatment to Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Doc Rivers was fired after the Bucks finished the 2025-26 season with only 32 wins, their worst performance in a decade, amidst criticism of his management style and the team's overall chaos.
Giannis Antetokounmpo's injury woes contributed to the Bucks' poor performance, with some analysts suggesting that both his health and the coaching decisions played significant roles in the team's struggles.

In response, the 11-year veteran admitted that it differs between coaches, but âDoc Rivers didnât fine anybody.â He then revealed that teammates were late to practices and film sessions all the time and sometimes completely missed team meetings.
âIt was one of the craziest things I personally have ever experienced,â Turner said.
Turner also noted how bad his teammates were when it came to arriving for team flights. If the plane was supposed to leave at 2:00 PM, by the time everyone arrived, it would end up departing at least a couple of hours later. âIâm being so serious, bro. It was crazy,â said Turner.
It got so constant that Turner would purposefully not show up until an hour after the flight was supposed to depart. When Stewart asked who was the biggest offender, in terms of lateness, Turner admitted it was 10-time All-Star Antetokounmpo.
âGiannis is going to show up whenever he wants, really. I think this just kind of came with the territory,â he said.
Obviously, this is a terrible look for the players, their professionalism, and respect for their teammatesâ time. But if Rivers isnât holding them accountable, then it isnât shocking. It is now up to new head coach Taylor Jenkins to create a new standard of professionalism and get the Bucks back to competitive play next season.
