Minford and Green maintain their second-place rankings in Division V and Division VII, respectively, in the latest OHSBCA State Rankings. Clay, Valley, and South Webster also remain in the rankings, showcasing a consistent top five since the season began.
The same five teams who have been ranked since the start of the regular season continue to hold serve inside the latest Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association (OHSBCA) State Rankings, as Minford and Green each sit second overall in the Division V and Division VII rankings, respectively, while Clay (eighth in Division VII), Valley (13th in Division V) and South Webster (15th in Division VII) round out the same five units who have been ranked since Week 1.
Green, No. 2 in OHSBCA Division VII State Poll (128 points, three first-place votes)
Holding firm on its second place standing statewide in Division VII, the Green Bobcats’ baseball program currently sits second in the OHSBCA Division VII State Baseball Poll with 128 points in all.
Green (14-1, 4-1 SOC I) bounced back from a 4-0 setback at No. 8 Clay on Monday by claiming two big road wins, one at Olive Hill (Ky.) West Carter by a 5-4 count and the other at SOC I foe Ironton St. Joseph, notching a 4-3 triumph to put itself in control of its own destiny in the SOC I race. The Bobcats have three big SOC I contests this week against Notre Dame twice — Monday in Franklin Furnace and Wednesday in Portsmouth — and Ironton St. Joseph in Franklin Furnace.
David Shoupe’s club has outscored its opposition 117-19 in 2026.
In 15 appearances, the entire Green pitching staff, led by primary starters Jon Knapp and Gabe Blevins and rounded out by Riddick Jenkins, Luke Kimbler, Uriah Satterfield and Kase McIntyre, has tallied a 0.66 ERA.
Hitting-wise, Green’s lineup continues to play excellent station-to-station baseball.
For the season, the Bobcats are hitting .326 at the plate as a team (140-of-511). Everyday players Jon Knapp and Riddick Jenkins are hitting .449 and .415 while Gabe Blevins and Mason Neal are each hitting .367 for the Bobcats.
Minford, No. 2 in OHSBCA Division V State Poll (146 points, one first-place votes)
Moving up to second in the latest OHSBCA state rankings, Minford has now outscored its opponents by an 120-37 margin through its first 13 games of the season as of Monday afternoon. The Falcons (13-1, 7-1 SOC III) have won nine games by five runs or more in 2026 and have scored seven runs or more in 10 contests.
Minford posted 12 hits and had five of the extra base variety in a 10-0, five-inning mercy rule triumph against Manchester, which marked the Falcons' fifth mercy rule win of the year.
This win came two days after a thrilling 4-3 win on the road against Wheelersburg, where Minford came back from a 3-0 deficit after six innings of work to win by scoring four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, three of them with two outs against it. Mason Bradley put together an RBI single to left field while Ty Borland legged out an infield hit that both Colt Donahoe and Curtis Glenn scored on through the same play, resulting in a thrilling comeback triumph for the Falcons.
Clay, No. 8, 51 points in Division VII
Minford is ranked second in Division V, while Green holds the second position in Division VII in the latest OHSBCA State Rankings.
Green bounced back from a loss to Clay by winning two road games against Olive Hill and Ironton St. Joseph.
Clay, Valley, and South Webster are also ranked, with Clay at eighth in Division VII, Valley at 13th in Division V, and South Webster at 15th in Division VII.
Green has a record of 14-1 and has outscored opponents 117-19 this season.

Making the largest jump of any Scioto County team in the rankings, the Clay Panthers' baseball program scored two victories of epic proportions last week, with Clay defeating Green 4-0 on Monday and then taking down Notre Dame in a nine-inning thriller on Friday in Rosemount to rise from 10th in the OHSBCA Division VII Poll to eighth.
Offensively, Evan Rider leads Clay as the sophomore is batting .548 for the 2026 season with a 1.416 .OPS. Rider also has six doubles, a home run, 10 RBI and 19 runs scored while drawing 13 walks and only striking out four times for the season as well.
Pitching-wise, Rider is 4-2 with a 1.04 ERA and has struck out 43 batters while walking only 12 at the plate.
Among players who have played in over 90 percent of Clay's games in 2026, Corey Williams is hitting .400 while Noah Woods (.366), Jackson Hannan (.361) and Cade Munion (.343) are all batting over .340. That quartet has combined for five doubles, four triples, a home run, 44 RBI and 57 runs scored.
Woods had the game-winning RBI in Clay's nine-inning thriller over Notre Dame (4-3), driving in Derick Oliver as the game-winning run with his RBI base knock to right field for the winner.
Valley, No. 13, 12 points in Division V
Still sitting in a position to possibly grab a share of the SOC III Championship, the Valley Indians must win out in conference play but have the capability to do so with the players in its camp.
Nolan Barnett, Carson Powell and Nick Queen are hitting .471, .467 and .390 respectively for the Indians, with all three players sporting .OPS marks of .991 or better in 2026. The trio have combined for 39 RBI and 46 runs scored and have produced 17 walks between them as well.
Colin Greene (.316) and Gabe McNeil (.314) have also swung the bat well at different times throughout the season.
Pitching-wise, Barnett continues to throw in a strong manner, as the senior and Rio Grande signee sits 4-0 with a 2.18 ERA. Barnett has struck out 29 batters and only walked six in 2026. Gabe McNeil has also been big on the hill, notching a 2-2 record in six appearances and four starts with a 2.55 ERA, while Caysen Zieber, a rangy outfielder, has shown tons of promise defensively which has translated to the mound as well. Zieber is 2-1 with a 2.83 ERA, and has combined with McNeil to strike out 44 batters while walking only 17.
South Webster, No. 15, 12 points in Division VII
Idle since last Wednesday, the South Webster Jeeps' baseball program is looking for a strong finish to the 2026 season with 11 games over the next three weeks, including SOC III contests at West and Minford and a home bout against state-ranked Clay during that stretch.
Pitching talents Easton Large and Jacob McGraw, along with a consistent batting order that includes Hunter Barnard, Brycin McClintic, Beau Stephens, Pierce Kreischer, Benaiah Andrews, Brayden Barnard, Sam Murphy, Cole Bennett, Large and McGraw, have kept the Jeeps in highly competitive ballgames throughout much of the season.
