
Rejuvenated Dragons aim for final European hurdle
The Dragons are set to face Montpellier in the Challenge Cup semi-finals, aiming for their first European final ever.
Mizzou track & field excelled at the Rock Chalk Classic, with Lasse Funck setting a No.2 program record in the men's 1,500m. The team showcased strong performances across multiple events, including hammer throw and javelin.
Lasse Funck led the charge with an impressive win, and a No.2 Mizzou program record in the event. He clocked a blazing 3:41.25 to take the top spot. Finnian Russell wasnât far behind, placing seventh in 3:42.95. Carter Spradling (11th) and Andrew Hauser (15th) rounded out a strong competitive showing for Mizzou in the event.
The Tigers came out swinging in the hammer throw. Kaitlyn Morningstar set the tone early, finishing second with a mark of 52.48 meters. Reagan Kimrey added a sixth-place finish of 49.40 meters, while Delilah Pippen and Tania Duncan secured eighth and ninth. With four Tigers in the top 10, this set the tone right for the team.
Tyler Freiner claimed a second place finish in the race for the Tigers, with a time of 14:06.70. His result was Mizzouâs new No.10 program record in the event.
Lasse Funck set a No.2 Mizzou program record in the men's 1,500m with a time of 3:41.25.
Mizzou had four athletes finish in the top 10 of the women's hammer throw, with Kaitlyn Morningstar placing second.
Sam Innes led the men's hammer throw with a throw of 67.84 meters, while Garik Pozecki achieved a personal best of 63.61 meters.
Mizzou will compete in women's pole vault, men's shot put, women's discus throw, men's 800 meters, and the 100-meter dash.

The Tigers stacked the leaderboard in the javelin, finishing second as a team behind a wave of top performers. Morgan Cannon led the way with a throw of 47.59 meters, followed closely by Val Galligan in third at 46.93 meters, Marysa Flieg in fourth at 45.47 meters and Adrienne Russell in fifth with her throw of 44.52 meters. Nora Hark added a seventh-place finish, giving Mizzou five athletes in the top-10.
Elissa Barnard capped off her day with a personal-best performance in the womenâs 1,500m, finishing 12th in 4:39.68.
Charlotte Cullen ran unattached, winning the overall race with a time of 16:45.29. As for Natalie Barnard, she claimed third overall for the Tigers, with a time of 17:15.57. **Meet Results:**
The Tigers return to Kansas with more action to spare on Saturday, May 2, for the second day of the Rock Chalk meet. Allison Geen, MaKenna Estes and Anna Vedral will represent Missouri in the womenâs pole vault, while Sam Albert, Chase Crawford and Kamp are set to compete in the menâs shot put. Burton will take part in the womenâs discus throw, and River Hardman will race in the menâs 800 meters.
