Boston Red Sox first baseman Willson Contreras has missed just one of the team's first 35 games this season and enters Tuesday leading his new squad in home runs (seven), RBIs (21), slugging percentage (.475) and OPS (.856).
With the likes of outfielder Roman Anthony and other bats either nursing injuries or struggling to produce at the dish, Contreras has arguably been the team's most dangerous hitter this spring.
Senior writer Tim Britton of The Athletic named the former St. Louis Cardinals slugger as Boston's "April All-Star" on Tuesday.

"He and Wilyer Abreu have carried the Boston offense while so many others have struggled, and Contreras has also continued to elevate his defense at first base."
Contreras has also been an emotional leader in the Red Sox clubhouse and could make his first Midsummer Classic since 2022 this season if he continues his hot start.
