â Maryland Women's Lacrosse (@MarylandWLax) April 28, 2026 In her second season as the full-time starter, Suriano has blossomed into a star. The Baltimore, Maryland native ranks top-five nationally in saves (197) and save percentage (51.7%). She is one of two goalies to be included on the Tewaaraton Award Nominee list. Suriano was pivotal in the Terpsâ conference tournament run, denying a potential game-tying shot in the quarterfinals and logging 12 saves in the title game. Maryland held Northwestern to its second-fewest goals this season and forced the four-time defending champions into overtime. But Suriano was just one of three Terps named to the All-Big Ten Tournament team; midfielder Kori Edmondson and defender Maddy Sterling also received the honor. Edmondson, the first-round selection in the WLL draft, contributed a team-high eight goals and added two assists across the three tournament contests. The senior kickstarted Marylandâs comeback from four goals down in the championship game. While Sterling has largely flown under the radar in her five years with the Terps, she has been just as influential in the teamâs success this season. Sterling was tasked with slowing down Madison Taylor, the recent WLL draft top-pick, on Sunday. She excelled in her role, limiting Taylor to a season-low one goal. With the NCAA Tournament still ahead, Maryland will hope to capture some postseason magic and secure the programâs first national title since 2019.
Maryland baseball cruised past Georgetown on Tuesday, 11-2, for its sixth consecutive midweek victory. Zoe Hammond had the story. Maryland football has had a player selected in each of the last nine NFL Drafts.
