The biggest question facing every WNBA team in training camp
WNBA training camps open with key questions for each team.
The NFL Draft is approaching, with Penn State prospects like OL Vega Ioane and DE Dani Dennis-Sutton expected to be first-round picks. However, the school is likely to miss out on having a first-round quarterback, as no Penn State QB has been selected in the first round since Kerry Collins in 1995.

The NFL Draft is just 10 days away in the lovely city of Pittsburgh, and we’re looking at all of the various Penn State prospects that are hoping to hear their name called over the 3-day event.
While there are sure to be an abundance of Penn Staters that end up on professional teams by the time the event is over, including potential first round prospects in OL Vega Ioane and DE Dani Dennis-Sutton, there is one position that Penn State will most likely miss out on having a first rounder: quarterback.
In fact, no Penn State quarterback has been taken in the first round in the 2000s. The last first-round quarterback the Lions have had was Kerry Collins way back in the 1995 Draft.
Since then, the next highest quarterback taken was Christian Hackenberg was in the second round in 2016.
Other than those two? We had Sean Clifford in the fifth round in 2023, Trace McSorley in the sixth round in 2019, Michael Robinson in the fourth round in 2006, Kevin Thompson in the supplemental draft in 2000, and Wally Richardson in the seventh round in 1997.
Some undrafted QBs over that timespan included Zach Mills, Daryll Clark, and Matt McGloin.
Will Drew Allar break that first round streak? Ehhh not likely. He currently grades out to a second to fourth round prospect, though I do think he has the tools to make a GM somewhere look smart for drafting him wherever they do.
Next year perhaps? Can Rocco Becht have himself a good enough year at Penn State to earn a first round selection? Time will tell I suppose, but he would have to do some work to get there I think.
But what do you think? Will Allar or Becht break the Penn State quarterback curse? Or will we have to wait a few more years. Let me know what you think!
The NFL Draft is scheduled to take place in Pittsburgh in just 10 days from October 11, 2025.
The top Penn State prospects include offensive lineman Vega Ioane and defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton.
No Penn State quarterback has been selected in the first round since Kerry Collins in 1995, indicating a lack of standout QB talent from the program in recent years.
