Winnacunnet High School girls lacrosse team kicked off their Division II title defense with a decisive 20-7 victory over Goffstown, led by Elle Emery's four goals and three assists.
HAMPTON - Elle Emery had four goals and three assists as the Winnacunnet High School girls lacrosse team began its Division II title defense with a 20-7 win over Goffstown on Monday, April 13.
"It was a good start to the season," Winnacunnet head coach Glenn MacKenzie said.

Winnacunnet senior Elle Emery tries to get around Goffstown's Sydney Lavoie during Monday's Division II girls lacrosse season-opener for both teams. Emery had four goals and three assists for Winnacunnet in its 20-7 win.
McKinley Fowler added five goals for the Warriors, while Emily Arlington had four goals, and Reese Gandt and Annika Jacques both had three.
Ari Rizzo added one goal and three assists for the Warriors, and Leah Costa had one goal.

EXETER - Riley Benevides had five goals, and Claire Wilhelm and Avery Carrigan both had four for Exeter in its Division I season opener.
Racquel Battle added two goals and one assist for the Blue Hawks, while Grace McIroy (goal, two assists), Evie Lafreniere (goal), Addy Gwinn (goal), Brooke Battle (two assists), Josie Drunsic (assist) and Lizzie DeLello (assist) all figured in the scoring.
Exeter goalies Molly Byrne and Maggie Lilly combined for five saves.

DOVER - Freshman Grady Estes had seven goals, and juniors Ryan Resch and Colby Tasker both had four for St. Thomas in its season-opening Division III win.
Senior Luke Daly added two goals for the Saints, while Rhys Sullivan was 20-for-21 on faceoffs and goalie Jake More had four saves.

READING, Mass. - Ebbin Perkins' fourth goal of the game was the game-winning overtime tally for Berwick, which improved to 5-0.
Reed Kenney also scored four goals for Berwick, while Cole Cournoyer had two, and Preston Randell had one. Berwick goalie Landon Vivathana had 15 saves.

ROCHESTER - Ana Christo had two hits and four RBIs, and Piper Hindle, Laura Milks and Emi Greco all had two hits for Portsmouth in its Division I season-opener.
Portsmouth scored two runs in the first inning, six in the third, three in the fifth, and two in the sixth.
Darby Benson had one hit, drove in three and scored twice for the Clippers. Avery Grant had one hit and four RBIs for Spaulding, while Ashley Adrien had three hits and scored two runs. Teammate Meg Uraskevich had one hit, two RBIs and two runs scored, and Izzy Brennan had one hit, one RBI and two runs scored.

HAMPTON - Senior Hayren Reynoso slugged a game-winning, walk-off home run in the eighth inning for Winnacunnet in its Division I season opener.
Maeva Shapiro had two hits, including a two-run triple for the Warriors, while Arden Langmaid and Fenway Schouller both had two hits, and Lucy Gelbstein had one hit, two stolen bases, and scored two runs.
Winnacunnet's Charlie Edwards allowed four hits and two earned runs over eight innings, striking out two.

EXETER - Three errors in the first two innings led to six unearned runs for Windham in this Division I season opener for Exeter.
Mack Clark had two hits and two RBIs for Exeter, which got a home run from freshman Alexa Papakonstantis. Lilah Smalley, Jill Ryan, Grace Goodreau and Ava Minghella all had an RBI for Exeter.

AMHERST - Sam Bishop didn't allow a hit and struck out six over six innings as Oyster River opened with this Division II win.
Aliza Parks and Aubrey DeJesus both had three hits and two RBIs for the Bobcats and Kate Michaud, Gracy Spirito, Payton Drapeau, Morgan Trela, and Lorelye LeClair all had one hit.

MANCHESTER - Mattie Williams and Mollie Gaynor each had two hits and scored a run for St. Thomas Aquinas in its season-opening Division III contest.
Hailey Anzmann, Paige Pelletier, Olivia Semprini, and Maddie Hamilton all had one hit for the Saints.

DOVER - Lexi Jordan struck out nine and allowed one unearned run as Portsmouth Christian opened with this Division IV win.
Emma Anderson had one hit and two RBIs for the Eagles. Paige Sweitzer had two hits and scored Newmarket's lone run.
Anika Benson had a triple for the Mules, and Brielle Duffy collected her first varsity hit. Newmarket's Emma Surina pitched a complete-game, allowing five hits.

WINDHAM - Senior right-hander Ethan Battles struck out 16 and allowed four hits and one earned run in a complete-game, season-opening win for the defending Division I state champions.
Exeter scored two runs in each of the first two innings, and added one in the sixth. Windham scored single runs in the fourth and seventh innings.
Andrew Martin had a team-high two hits for Exeter, and Brennan Schimoler, Nolan Engler and Ben Wissler all had one.

KEENE - Braeden O'Hara blasted a three-run homer and Bryce Pinsonnault had a three-run double as Winnacunnet opened with a Division I win.
Senior Ryan Guiffre had a team-high three hits for the Warriors, while O'Hara, Pinsonnault and Harvey Reynoso all had two. Ethan Roy also had an RBI double for Winnacunnet.
Reynoso struck out five and allowed two earned runs and four hits over 5 2/3 innings, earning the win. Sophomore Cam Lauder entered the game with the bases loaded and two outs. He struck out the next batter, ending the threat. He then got Keene in order in the seventh for the save.

PELHAM - Conall Ciaschini allowed two hits and an unearned run over five innings for St. Thomas in its Division III season opener.

In doubles, Goldrick and LaChance won 8-5 at No. 1, Phelps and Beaulieu won 8-3 at No. 2, and Bickford and Castonguay won 8-1 at No. 3.
