HAMPTON - Senior Hayren Reynoso certainly made Greg Cochrane's first game as head coach of the Winnacunnet High School softball team a memorable one.
Reynoso, the seventh batter in Winnacunnet's lineup, blasted a two-strike, leadoff walk-off home run over the fence in straightaway center field as the Warriors rallied for a 4-3 season-opening, eight-inning win over Keene.

"It was definitely a no-doubter," said Cochrane, the former head coach at Merrimack High School and St. Thomas Aquinas now in his first year with the Warriors. "She got down on two tough strikes, and she just absolutely demolished the third pitch she saw."

All of Reynoso's teammates were waiting for her at home plate.

"It was just like you wanted it to be with everybody out of the dugout, jumping up and down, screaming and yelling," Cochrane said. "It was awesome, very nice."
Winnacunnet rallied for two runs in the seventh to send the game into extra innings.
"The excitement and thrill at the end was something," Cochrane said. "This win means everything. The kids definitely showed that they're resilient and can fight and can hang in."
Reynoso drew a walk in two prior plate appearances.
