The MPSSAA has announced its state playoff brackets for the upcoming baseball and softball postseasons. And now, Bayside South teams know the path that is laid out for them as they hope to make deep runs toward a state championship.
Last year saw three Bayside South teams make it to the state title game in baseball and softball, as Mardela won the 1A softball championship, while Decatur softball and Parkside baseball finished their seasons as runners-up. We'll see if any Bayside South teams can replicate those runs this postseason.

There are two Bayside South teams in the MPSSAA Class 3A East II Region, and there is a chance they could face each other in the coming rounds.
Stephen Decatur, fresh off of an undefeated regular season, are the No. 1 seed in 3A East II. They will receive a bye in the regional quarterfinals before hosting the regional semifinals on Saturday, May 9.
James M. Bennett are the No. 4 seed in the same region, and will host South River in the regional quarterfinals on May 7. The winner of that game will head to Berlin to face Decatur.
Parkside, last year's Class 2A runner ups, are the No. 1 seed in the 2A East II region, and will also receive a bye in the regional quarterfinals. They will host the winners of the Queen Anne's-Easton game on May 9. Wi-Hi are also in this region as the No. 6 seed, and will be on the road for their May 7 matchup against North Caroline
In 1A East II, Mardela are the No. 1 seed and receive a bye in the first round before hosting the regional semifinals. Washington are the No. 5 seed, and will travel to face Cambridge-South Dorchester, with the winner moving on to face Mardela.
The Snow Hill Eagles are the No. 2 seed and will also receive a bye in the first round before hosting the regionals semifinals. Crisfield and Pocomoke are the No. 3 and No. 6 seeds respectively, and Crisfield will host Pocomoke in the regional quarterfinals this week.
