Mr. and Mrs. Met's Star Wars Day outfits inspired thirst traps, ‘Spaceballs’ jokes

The New York Mets have added yet another chapter into the online sensation that is Mrs. Met thirst trap bait. Users on Twitter and other social media sites have a history of being down bad for Mrs. Met, the anthropomorphic baseball spouse of mascot Mr. Met. Despite the two being happily married, Mrs. Met has had suitors from across the globe — and even from her mascot peers — attempt to win her heart. And on Thursday, during the Mets' Star Wars Day celebrating the iconic franchise, those lustful home-wreckers were at it again. To celebrate Star Wars Day, Mr. and Mrs. Met were dressed up as characters from the franchise. Mr. Met dressed as The Mandalorian, with a big helmet covering his baseball head. Mrs. Met dressed as Bo-Katan, another character from the series. Overall, the two costumes were pretty cool, with Mr. Met even carrying around Grogu in a pouch, who he then threw to Mrs. Met for the first pitch before the game.
