Michigan State guard Divine Ugochukwu has entered the transfer portal on the last day of the transfer window. He played one season with the Spartans, starting 12 of 22 games before a foot injury ended his season.
A previous starting guard for the Spartans has reportedly entered the transfer portal.
In the final hours of the transfer portal window being open, Michigan State guard Divine Ugochukwu has reportedly entered his name into the transfer portal, according to Joe Tipton of On3. The window to open the transfer portal closed on Tuesday night, but the report of Ugochukwu's entrance was not reported until Wednesday morning.
Ugochukwu played one season at Michigan State after transferring to the school from Miami (FL) last offseason. He appeared in 22 games for the Spartans this year, including 12 starts, recording 5.1 points and 1.5 assists per game. He hit a game-tying three-pointer in the final seconds at Rutgers to avoid an upset and also posted a career-high 23 points in a win at Penn State as two of his most notable performances with the Spartans.
Ugochukwu's season with the Spartans was cut short due to a foot injury suffered at Minnesota in early February.
This is the first (and appears to be only) player from Michigan State to enter the transfer portal. With Ugochukwu's entry into the portal, Michigan State will now have two available scholarships to add a pair of new players via the portal.
