Malcolm Bell, a defensive back from Michigan State, has received a minicamp invite from the Cleveland Browns following the 2026 NFL Draft. Bell previously played four years at UConn before transferring to Michigan State for the 2025 season.
Michigan State defensive back Malcolm Bell will be heading only a few hours south to continue his football career in the NFL.
Spartans Sports Coverage reported on Sunday that Bell has received a minicamp invite from the Cleveland Browns. This invite from the Browns comes after the conclusion of the 2026 NFL Draft this weekend.
Bell transferred to Michigan State ahead of the 2025 season after playing four years at UConn. He appeared in all 12 games for the Spartans during his lone season in East Lansing, Mich., recording 49 tackles, five tackles for loss, one sack and six passes defended.
Prior to his time at Michigan State, Bell appeared in 34 games with the Huskies. He recorded 94 tackles, four tackles for loss, 13 passes defended and one forced fumble while at UConn.
It'll be interesting to see if Bell can play his way into a training camp spot with the Browns this fall. He was a reliable player for the Spartans during his lone season at Michigan State, so I wouldn't be surprised if he gets a chance in the NFL this upcoming season.
