The Georgia Bulldogs might earn a major recruit commitment on May 15. That's when five-star offensive tackle Mark Matthews will announce his commitment, according to Hayes Fawcett. He will choose among Georgia, Miami, Texas A&M, and LSU.
Matthews is a five-star offensive tackle from the class of 2027. The 6-foot-5, 300-pound tackle prospect plays high school football for St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is the No. 3 overall recruit and No. 1 offensive tackle recruit in the nation.
Winning this commitment would jump start Georgia's recruiting class. The Bulldogs currently have the No. 31 recruiting class in the nation despite earning a commitment from running back Kemon Spell, the No. 7 recruit in the nation. Part of that is due to recently losing five-star cornerback Donte Wright to Miami and four-star cornerback Jerry Outhouse to UCLA.
Despite the lack of depth in the overall class, Georgia has recruited heavily in the offensive line. They've secured commitments from four-star Kelsey Adams, along with three-stars Abram Eisenhower and Ty Johnson. Still, getting Matthews to come to Georgia would be huge.
