If you want to get a snapshot of where things stand with the NBA postseason on any particular day during the spring, Fanatics’ NBA Finals MVP odds board encapsulates it well. You get a solid grasp on which players are performing well in the NBA Playoffs, and of how realistic it is that these players can lead their team to the NBA Finals.
With NBA First Round series still playing out this weekend, let’s take stock of this betting market.
NBA Finals MVP oddsThe players listed at the top of Fanatics Sportsbook’s NBA Finals MVP odds board are obviously players playing at an elite level. They are also players playing on a team that has a realistic chance at winning the NBA title. Here is a look at some of the more notable contenders.
**Shai Gilgeous-Alexander NBA Finals MVP odds (-120)**It’s no surprise to see the reigning NBA Finals MVP atop this list as SGA’s Thunder are up 2-0 in their series against the Suns. He is averaging 31.0 points and 8.0 assists in this postseason thus far. OKC is -125 to win the NBA title at Fanatics.
This is the 22-year-old Frenchman’s first time in the NBA Playoffs, but his play has remained elite. In Game 1 of the series against Portland, he pumped in 35 points and shot 5-of-6 from 3-point territory.
His Spurs are +650 to win the championship.
**Jaylen Brown NBA Finals MVP odds (+1100)**Brown has had no problem assuming the Alpha dog status for the Celtics this season, while Jayson Tatum missed the first five months of the season recovering from a ruptured Achilles. Tatum’s return has not held Brown back in the least bit, as JB is averaging 31.0 ppg so far in the playoffs.
The Celtics (+650) currently have the second-best odds to win the title, behind OKC.
**Jayson Tatum NBA Finals MVP odds (+1100)**Tatum currently has the same NBA Finals MVP odds as Brown, while averaging 22.0 points per game so far against the 76ers. That series is tied, 1-1.
It’s important to remember that NBA Finals MVP is an award given to the player who performs the best in the actual NBA Finals, not the entirety of the playoffs.
If the Celtics are to make it that far, it’s entirely possible that Tatum will have completely regained the form he displayed prior to the injury.
It should be noted that Brown won NBA Finals MVP when the Celtics won their only title with this current core in 2024. Tatum surely wants his own.
**Nikola Jokic NBA Finals MVP odds (+1800)**The Joker is sixth on the NBA Finals MVP odds board despite his Nuggets being down 1-2 in their series against the Timberwolves. The numbers that he is putting up are still so tantalizing that he remains a consideration.
Jokic is averaging 25.3 points, 14.3 rebounds, and 7.3 assists in the 2026 postseason, thus far.
**Luka Doncic NBA Finals MVP odds (+6000)**Doncic remains out as he recovers from a left hamstring strain. But, the Slovenian superstar currently has better NBA Finals MVP odds than Anthony Edwards (+8000), Chet Holmgren (+9000), LeBron (+20000), and Kevin Durant (+12000).
The thinking here is that if the Lakers can power through to the NBA Finals, Doncic will be close to full-strength by that time. And a full-strength Doncic can go toe-to-toe with any player in the league.
