In the 2026 edition of the annual anonymous player poll conducted by The Athletic, Nurse was voted as one of the least impressive coaches in the entire league.
In all, 100 NBA players voted in the poll and Nurse received five percent of the vote, which was tied for the fifth-most league-wide along with former Chicago Bulls head coach Billy Donovan.
Washington Wizards head coach Brian Keefe received the most votes with 22 percent, followed by former Milwaukee Bucks head coach Doc Rivers (14 percent), head coach Doug Christie (10 percent) and head coach Steve Kerr (6 percent).

On the flip side of things, Nurse didn't receive a single vote in the poll of the most impressive coaches, which was lead by Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla (17.8 percent) and Oklahoma City Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault (15.8 percent)
Nurse led the 76ers to a 45-37 record during the regular season, which was good for seventh in the standings in the Eastern Conference.
It's worth noting that players werenât permitted to vote for their own coach in these polls, so all of these votes came from players on other teams. Clearly, Nurse isn't viewed too favorably by non-76ers players from across the league's landscape.
