Qualified for its second consecutive Champions League final, Paris Saint-Germain can count on the support across the Atlantic of Victor Wembanyama, a fervent supporter of the French capital club.
A quick NBA note: in the middle of the night, the San Antonio Spurs dominated the Minnesota Timberwolves thanks to a very strong Victor Wembanyama.
Scoring 39 points, the native of Le Chesnay, in the Yvelines region, impressed everyone and logically was the subject of a post-game interview with Prime Video, the broadcaster of the game.
It was an opportunity for him to briefly mention his status as a Paris Saint-Germain supporter. Asked by a host about his preference for the Champions League final, the one nicknamed "The Alien," standing at 7 feet 4 inches, was very clear in his choice and gives his voice to the reigning European champion.
"The French are known for their taste, their art, their architecture, food, wine..." the host began, before Victor Wembanyama cut him off: "And I'm no exception (laughs)." The host continued: "I need to know, about your tastes, do you have a preference for the Champions League final? PSG or Arsenal?" But for the French international, the answer is obvious. "Oh come on! PSG of course! At least PSG will make the final spectacular, because I know Arsenal won't," he said with a smile.
A positive note for the Parisian club, which hides a jab that will not please Arsenal fans. The Gunners have been heavily criticized for their style of play this season, far from the spectacular nature of the matches played by PSG, such as the first leg of the semifinal against Bayern Munich which ended 5-4 and will go down in history.
