The country music stars indeed paid a visit to Milwaukee to film an intro for the new NBC "Sunday Night Baseball" package, which debuted in full on NBC with the April 12 game between the Cleveland Guardians and Atlanta Braves.
It may not yet hold the same place in the music/sports pantheon as Hank Williams Jr., Faith Hill or Carrie Underwood providing suitable hype for weekly football broadcasts, but the band's spin on Emerson, Lake & Palmer's "Karn Evil 9, 1st Impression Part 2" could certainly catch on.
It's the setting that will most catch the eye of Milwaukee fans.
The band filmed part of the segment inside the Brewers stadium with about 150 extras March 12, shielded from the cold from about 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. It was one of four days during which NBC cameras were in-house making the magic happen.
WTMJ (AM-620) radio spoke to NBC Sports creative director Tripp Dixon, who cited the venue's brick work as an attractive feature in choosing where to film the sequence.
It probably didn't hurt that two of the other five American MLB baseball stadiums with roofs (in Miami and Houston) were occupied for World Baseball Classic competition at the time. Dixon said his director of photography, Jordan McMonagle, went to Marquette University High School, and served as an unofficial tour guide when time allowed.

MLB signed a three-year deal with NBC in November to air Sunday night games and the wild-card round of the playoffs. After the Guardians-Braves game, the next six games will appear on Peacock and NBCSN before NBC takes over from May 31 to Sept. 6.

Somewhat ironically, American Family Field won't host a game at any point during the inaugural season of NBC baseball on Sunday night, with the Brewers slated for only one game Sept. 20 in Baltimore.
Milwaukee does have a "home" Sunday night game Aug. 23 against the Braves, but that will air on ESPN as a specialty broadcast in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, as part of the network's Little League World Series.
Zac Brown Band will be back in Wisconsin for a concert this summer but not in Milwaukee. It'll be headlining Aug. 6 at the XRoads41 festival in Oshkosh, a third-year festival with a massive lineup.
