The NCAA softball tournament bracket for 2026 has been revealed, setting the stage for the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City. Experts predict a competitive field with teams like Texas, Nebraska, and Oklahoma vying for the title.
It's time to start the Road to theĀ Women's College World SeriesĀ in Oklahoma City thanks to Sunday night's unveiling of theĀ 2026 NCAA softball tournament bracket.
The field trying to reach the WCWS is seemingly as wide open as ever.
Can theĀ Texas LonghornsĀ repeat? Can Jordy Frahm deliver a championship to theĀ Nebraska Cornhuskers? Can theĀ Oklahoma SoonersĀ win their fifth title in six years?
Here's how The Oklahoman's Jenni Carlson, Joe Mussatto, Colton Sulley and Scott Wright see the regional round playing out:
CARLSON: NCAA softball bracket predictions: Which teams will make WCWS in OKC?

ā (1) Alabama (49-7) vs. USC Upstate (36-21), noon Friday,Ā SEC Network
Jenni Carlson:Ā Alabama. The Crimson Tide got no favors with Southeastern Louisiana, a mid-major spoiler, and Belmont with pitching star Maya Johnson. But Alabama is good enough to handle both.
Joe Mussatto: Alabama. Keep an eye on Belmont, though. Bruins ace Maya Johnson was drafted by the Oklahoma City Spark with the No. 3 pick in the AUSL draft.
Colton Sulley: Alabama. The committee didn't do Alabama any favors with this regional by sending them Southeastern Louisiana and Belmont ā the Lions knocked out LSU in its own regional last season and the Bruins own one of the best pitchers nationally. I'll go with the Tide escaping, but it won't be easy.
Scott Wright:Ā Alabama. Belmontās Maya Johnson is an elite pitcher, but taking down āBama in a regional format is too much to ask.
ā (16) LSU (37-17) vs. Akron (34-23), 5:30 p.m. Friday,Ā ESPN+
ā Virginia Tech (46-10) vs. South Alabama (32-25), 3 p.m. Friday,Ā ESPN+
Jenni Carlson:Ā Virginia Tech. Maybe it figures that the 16th overall seed has a tough regional assignment, but Virginia Tech has some big boppers. And the Hokiesā pitching can win in Baton Rouge.
Joe Mussatto: Virginia Tech. The Hokies went 21-4 on the road. Virginia Tech is every bit of LSUās equal.
Colton Sulley: Virginia Tech: LSU has been too shaky this season. Give me Virginia Tech, which will be motivated after it felt like it should've hosted.
Scott Wright:Ā Virginia Tech. After a mid-April stumble, the Hokies are back on track, and theyāve been strong on the road this season.
The winners of the Tuscaloosa Regional and Baton Rouge Regional will meet in the NCAA super regionals.
ā UCF (38-16-1) vs. Jacksonville State (45-14), 1:30 p.m. Friday,Ā ESPN+
ā (9) Florida State (49-8) vs. Stetson (36-20), 11 a.m. Friday,Ā ESPNU
Jenni Carlson:Ā Florida State. The Seminoles are hot, not only claiming the ACC Tournament title but also winning 13 of their last 14 games.
Joe Mussatto: Florida State. The ACC champs have won 13 of their last 14 games. The Seminoles should roll in this regional.
Colton Sulley: Florida State. While UCF and Stetson are formidable opponents, FSU should get to Supers weekend.
Scott Wright:Ā Florida State. The Seminoles have the firepower to dominate this regional, but donāt count out UCF, which made some important strides as a program this year.
ā South Carolina (30-26) vs. Cal State Fullerton (40-13), 6:30 p.m. Friday,Ā ESPN+
ā (8) UCLA (47-8) vs. California Baptist (43-17), 9 p.m. Friday,Ā ESPN2
Jenni Carlson:Ā UCLA. The Bruinsā pitching has been the question mark all season. South Carolina presents an interesting challenge, but the UCLA bats are too powerful.
Joe Mussatto: UCLA. The Bruins, led by the powerful bat of Megan Grant, lead the nation in slugging percentage.
Colton Sulley: UCLA. The Bruins' bats are the nation's best, leading the country in homers, OBP, slugging and runs per game.
Scott Wright:Ā UCLA. The Bruins hit a couple speedbumps late in the year, but enter the regional having won 18 of their last 21 games.
The winners of the Tallahassee Regional and Los Angeles Regional will meet in the NCAA super regionals.

ā Washington (36-18) vs. South Florida (42-15), 7 p.m. Friday,Ā ESPNU
ā (5) Arkansas (42-11) vs. Fordham (27-26), 4:30 p.m.,Ā ESPN+
Jenni Carlson:Ā Arkansas. Iām not sold on Washington. The Huskies have been unpredictable, and Arkansas has a team good enough to make OKC.
Joe Mussatto: Arkansas. Itās hard to bet against Heather Tarr and the Huskies this time of year, but Washington has struggled against quality competition. Arkansas is No. 1 in the RPI.
Colton Sulley: Arkansas. The Razorbacks have been the No. 1 team in the country by RPI for most of the season. Give me the Hogs.
Scott Wright:Ā Arkansas. The Razorbacks ended the year at No. 1 in the RPI and they have an incredible home environment that helped them to a 24-3 record at Bogle Park.
ā Arizona (35-16) vs. Marshall (37-17), 1:30 p.m. Friday,Ā ESPN+
ā (12) Duke (39-14) vs. Howard (28-17), 11 a.m. Friday,Ā ACC Network
Jenni Carlson:Ā Duke. Oh, how Iād like to pick Marshall. We need a mid-major breakthrough. But the Blue Devils have played a super-tough schedule to be ready for the postseason.
Joe Mussatto: Duke. The Blue Devils didnāt drop a series in conference play. Good luck beating Duke twice in one weekend.
Colton Sulley: Arizona. Arizona-Duke is one of the better regional matchups but give me the Wildcats' pitching to prevail.
Scott Wright:Ā Arizona. The Wildcats looked like a top-16 lock for much of the year, but some late-season hiccups hurt their seeding. The postseason reboot should be just what they need.
The winners of the Fayetteville Regional and Durham Regional will meet in the NCAA super regionals.
Arkansas Razorbacks infielder Ella McDowell (6) is greeted at home after hitting a home run in the fifth inning of a college softball game between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Arkansas Razorbacks at Love's Field in Norman, Okla., Friday, April 17, 2026.

ā (13) Oklahoma State (38-15) vs. Eastern Illinois (36-21), 3:30 p.m. Friday,Ā ESPN+
Jenni Carlson:Ā Oklahoma State. I changed my mind since picking Stanford on Sunday night. Even with OSUās lack of pitching depth, Stanford has been way too erratic.
Joe Mussatto: Oklahoma State. OSU is a different team than the one Stanford went 2-0 against with a 14-2 run differential in February.
Colton Sulley: Oklahoma State. Stanford beat Oklahoma State twice this season, outscoring the Cowgirls 14-2 across both matchups. But Ruby Meylan has OSU surging, give me the Cowgirls to squeak by.
Scott Wright:Ā Oklahoma State. The Cowgirls were 0-2 against Stanford in the first week of the season, but ace Ruby Meylan is a much different pitcher now. She will carry the Cowgirls back to a super regional.
ā Louisville (44-12) vs. Grand Canyon (52-8), 3 p.m. CT Friday,Ā ESPNU
ā (4) Nebraska (46-6) vs. South Dakota (20-34-1), 5:30 p.m. Friday,Ā ESPN+
Jenni Carlson:Ā Nebraska. Louisville and Grand Canyon are proof of the sportās improved depth and quality, but they arenāt in Nebraskaās class just yet.
Joe Mussatto: Nebraska. Give me the team that has Jordy Frahm.
Colton Sulley: Nebraska. Huskers move on. Jordy Frahm pushes Nebraska to supers for the second consecutive year.
Scott Wright:Ā Nebraska. The Huskers have been as consistent as any program around, and Jordy Frahm is as clutch as they come.
The winners of the Stillwater Regional and Lincoln Regional will meet in the NCAA super regionals.

ā (3) Oklahoma (48-8) vs. Binghamton (20-25), 2:30 p.m. Friday,Ā SEC Network
Jenni Carlson:Ā Oklahoma. Another easy regional path. Kansas is a feel-good story with the long-suffering Jayhawks getting an at-large, but no oneās keeping up with the Sooners.
Joe Mussatto: Oklahoma. OU has won a regional in every year since 2010. The Sooners havenāt lost a game in regionals since 2019.
Colton Sulley: Oklahoma. Sooners cruise. No one wants to face an angry Patty Gasso-led team.
Scott Wright:Ā Oklahoma. Michigan is a strong program and Kansas made an impressive climb this year, but neither is ready to take down the Sooners in Loveās Field.

Joe Mussatto: Oregon. The Ducks took two of three at UCLA in their final Big Ten series. Oregon is 21-2 at home.
Colton Sulley: Mississippi State. Samantha Ricketts' team gets out of Eugene. The Ducks have been inconsistent all year and the Bulldogs' SEC experience will lead to an upset.
Scott Wright:Ā Oregon. This might be the most highly contested regional in the tournament. Mississippi State and Saint Maryās both have the talent to contend, but the home field edge will lift the Ducks.
The winners of the Norman Regional and Eugene Regional will meet in the NCAA super regionals.
