Nebraska softball (40-6, 20-1) concluded its series with Iowa (25-25, 6-15) on Saturday. The Huskers capped off their final home game of the season with a monstrous victory, shutting out the Hawkeyes 13-0 on Senior Day.
Nebraska set the tone from its first turn at bat, scoring six runs in the bottom of the first on a two-run RBI single, a three-run home run and an error. The Huskers hit a solo home run in the second before blasting another three-run home run in the third. Nebraska posted its final three runs in the fourth before ending the game in the fifth.
The Huskers totaled 10 hits for 12 RBIs in their win and held Iowa to three hits. Jordy Frahm and Samantha Bland each struck a three-run home run to finish the game with three RBIs.
