All proceeds benefit the Hype 4 Life Foundation, a Burns family charity dedicated to raising awareness about Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and supporting affected families.
Inspired by Burns' nephew, who is on the autism spectrum, the organization provides resources, support groups, and experiences for parents while pursuing long-term projects like sensory rooms in schools and therapeutic farm programs. The event has raised more than $150,000 for charities in previous years.
"I think it’s going to be an amazing event. Bringing everyone together to have a great day, but it's also for a great cause. At the same time, it's close to my heart because my nephew is diagnosed with [autism]," Burns told amNewYork.
"Spreading the word because there are a lot of families that don’t have the facilities or the resources to deal with the experiences they are having. Going through the journey with my nephew and brother. Going to these events and hosting these events [that support] autism have opened my eyes to see that there are a lot of families that don't really know how to deal with it."
Tickets for the event, which was organized by Giants fan Joe Ruback (License Plate Guy), are available at spidagame.com.
Additional activities include autographs, face painting, a dance contest, and a sports card show.
