Giants Projected Win Total: 7.5
It’s rare that you have a top prospect at a premium position fall all the way to nine, but that is the case this year with Moore since there are so many teams drafting ahead of the Giants that potentially will need quarterbacks. According to PFF, Moore finished the 2025 season with a 92.6 coverage grade, which ranked #1 among all Power 4 cornerbacks.
With four of the eight teams selecting ahead of New York taking quarterbacks, the top cornerback in the class, Leonard Moore, falls to the Giants at ninth overall. In this scenario, New York adds another high-end cornerback, continuing to build a youthful secondary.
The Giants, of course, addressed the position in this year’s draft by selecting cornerback Colton Hood in the second round (37th overall). Hood, widely regarded as a first-round talent, will join a cornerback room that already includes Dru Phillips and free-agent additions Paulson Adebo and Greg Newsome II from the past two years.
It is worth noting that Sharp Football Analysis based this mock solely on projected win totals, which have the Giants at 7.5 wins for the upcoming season.
Depending on how the Giants perform this year—especially on defense—cornerback may not be as pressing a need as it appears today. Still, depth at the position is a good problem to have. Harbaugh showed in his first draft with the Giants that he is unafraid to take the best player available in the first round.
Fans, for their part, are hoping the days of top-10 picks are behind them, at least for the foreseeable future.
