The New York Yankees face the Kansas City Royals today, with Will Warren starting for the Yankees against lefty Noah Cameron. Ryan McMahon's late home run helped secure a win last night, but he is not in today's lineup.
After an overall annoying series against the Angels, last nightâs game was trending towards being annoying too, with the Yankees tied with the Royals in the eighth inning. Enter Ryan McMahon of all people. The embattled third baseball hit his first home run of the season at the best possible time, as his late two-run shot gave the Yankees the cushion they needed to win. Now, the Yankees can sew up a series win if they can beat Kansas City again this afternoon.
To try and get that win, the Yankees will give the ball to Will Warren. For the season, Warrenâs numbers are pretty good, although he has had some frustrating moments. Weâll see if he can get past those this afternoon against a struggling KC offense.
Despite his big homer, McMahon is not in the lineup today, as Amed Rosario will get the start against a lefty. Randal Grichuk is also in the lineup in left, with Cody Bellinger playing center in place of Trent Grisham.
Said lefty for the Royals will be Noah Cameron. Last year, Cameron finished fourth in AL Rookie of the Year voting and has been a very good pitcher in his young MLB career.
Hereâs all the information you need to know to catch todayâs game, and we hope youâll come join us in the game thread!
