The Magpies have been linked with a couple of intriguing names, the latest of whom is out-of-favour Chelsea striker Jackson.
Jackson is currently on loan at Bayern, where he has spent the majority of his time playing second fiddle to Harry Kane after falling down the pecking order at Chelsea.
Despite coming off the bench in the majority of his 29 appearances this season, Jackson has bagged 10 goals and four assists.
The original agreement between Bayern and Chelsea included a clause that would have turned the loan into a permanent deal worth £56.2 million.
However, that condition required Jackson to play at least 45 minutes in 40 different matches.
Unsurprisingly, that hasn’t materialised with Kane in remarkable goalscoring form. The England captain has tallied 53 goals in 45 games across all competitions.
Jackson played his part in helping Bayern win the league.
Bayern sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed that they will not trigger Jackson’s purchase clause, so he could be on the move once he returns to Chelsea.
