NFL analyst: Panthers QB Bryce Young poised to make big leap in 2026

NFL analyst and former wide receiver Isaiah Stanback expects more from the 2021 Heisman Trophy recipient.

Appearing on NFL Network's "Good Morning Football," Stanback pointed to Young, entering his fourth season, as one of the league's young quarterbacks to make significant jumps in 2026.

"He's now acclimated to this Dave Canales system," Stanback said. "You talk about somebody who has continually improved (his) game, obviously he's been through it, where he was the starter, they benched him for Andy Dalton, he earned the starting job back."

At 5-foot-10, Young kept working behind the scenes. Canales credited the experience for helping him grow as a professional.

"He revealed a lot about his character in that process and showed great leadership," Canales said, as reported by The Charlotte Post. "He stayed in front of the team. He did not take a seat in the back and just kind of let this thing play out. He continued to lead. And he was sending a message very clearly me, that this is my team and I respect it."

Stanbeck anticipates that Young, whose fifth season on his rookie deal is secure, will continue to grow as a player and team leader.

"Everybody always knocks him for his size," Stanbeck said. "You can't knock him for his tenacity (and) you can't knock him for his mentality. This dude is doing a heck of a job of improving as a quarterback.

"It's only going to get better for this young man."
