With the No. 244 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Philadelphia Eagles select … Cole Wisniewski, safety, Texas Tech!
Eagles fans have been clamoring for an addition to the back end of Philadelphia’s secondary and they finally got one, albeit with a late Day 3 selection.
Wisniewski played college football for North Dakota State (where fellow Eagles Day 3 pick Cole Payton played) before transferring to Texas Tech in 2025. His ball production last season was limited to zero interceptions and six passes defensed.
Wisniewski isn’t guaranteed to make the roster but he could realistically compete for a spot as a depth safety who mainly contributes on special teams.
Scouting report via NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein:
Big safety whose best football will be played around the line of scrimmage. Wisniewski is most effective as a run defender near the line, where his physicality and attention to detail as a tackler benefits him. He’s an average athlete, which shows up when he’s forced to transition laterally in coverage or shadow runners that bounce runs wide and outrace him to the corner. His coverage limitations are evident, but his size and ability to play on kick/punt cover teams give him a chance to compete for a roster spot.
