The drumbeat that the New York Giants want Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson with one of their top two picks in the 2026 NFL Draft continues to grow louder. Todd McShay of The Ringer and Rich Eisen both said on Monday’s ‘Rich Eisen Show’ that they are hearing the Giants might take Tyson at No. 5 instead of Ohio State linebacker Sonny Stylels.
“The Giants, that thing [they’re interest in Tyson] might be real,” McShay said. “If that’s real with Jordyn Tyson you can’t wait til 10. Tyson could go at 8 to the Saints.”
This is a massive change from what McShay has been saying, including on his own most recent podcast when he floated the idea that the Giants loved Styles and Ohio State safety Caleb Downs.
Tyson is of course a divisive prospect. Many consider him a top 10 talent and the best wide receiver in the class, but he has a long injury history that has been a concern. Giants GM Joe Schoen was in attendance when Tyson finally worked out for NFL teams on Friday.
Would the Giants really take that risk at No. 5?
“I thought it was Sonny Styles at 5 for the Giants,” McShay said. “Apparently it may not be.”
Eisen concurred.
“That’s all I’m hearing is that the Giants don’t want Sonny Styles,” Eisen said. “That word is on the street. It is on the draft street, which means Sonny Styles is gonna be a Giant.
The Giants are reportedly looking to secure Jordyn Tyson with one of their top picks due to his potential impact as a wide receiver.
Todd McShay indicated that the Giants' interest in Jordyn Tyson is serious, suggesting they might select him at No. 5 instead of Sonny Styles.
Previously, analysts suggested the Giants favored Sonny Styles and Caleb Downs, but recent reports indicate a significant shift towards Tyson.

“Let’s be straight up here. Who the hell knows?”
Apparently, not even the exceptionally well-connected McShay is certain what the Giants will do.
