Miami Dolphins rookie Chris Bell, a former Louisville standout, is drawing comparisons to All-Pro WR Deebo Samuel despite recovering from a torn ACL. An NFL executive described Bell as a faster version of Samuel, highlighting his impressive physical attributes.
The Miami Dolphins signed three veteran wide receivers this offseason and added three more through the first five rounds of the 2026 NFL draft.
Among the rookie wideouts joining the Dolphins in 2026 is former Louisville standout Chris Bell, who is expected to miss time early in his rookie season due to a torn ACL that he suffered in his final year with the Cardinals.
While Bell may not make a huge impact in his first year in the NFL, he's already drawing comparisons to a one-time All-Pro.
"He's really good, he's fast, he's 220 pounds and 6-foot-1," an anonymous executive told "The Athletic" recently. "[He's] built like Deebo Samuel but faster. He breaks tackles. He runs away from people. He just doesn't run a full route tree."
Through seven seasons with the San Francisco 49ers and Washington Commanders, Samuel has caught 609 passes for 5,519 yards and 27 touchdowns. He's also been a weapon in the ground game as well, rushing for an additional 1,218 yards and 21 touchdowns on 5.6 yards per attempt.
If Bell can make that kind of impact in South Florida, the Dolphins would probably be thrilled.
