Southampton's fate in the Championship play-offs hangs in the balance as EFL hearing is set for May 19.
The Cincinnati Bengals' success in 2026 depends heavily on quarterback Joe Burrow's health. NFL insider Ian Rapoport emphasizes that if Burrow can perform at his best, the team has the potential to excel after a challenging 2023 season.
The Cincinnati Bengals are looking to bounce back from a difficult season, and the key to success hinges on one player in particular.
During an appearance on The Insiders podcast, NFL insider Ian Rapoport discussed what it will take for the Bengals to rebound from a 6-11 season. And while he believes that the Bengals did a great job at filling in a lot of gaps this season, he feels like a truly successful season will depend on whether or not starting quarterback Joe Burrow is able to get back to full strength.
"If Joe Burrow is not available playing at his absolute highest capabilities, then this Cincinnati Bengals team is probably going to have a rough season," Rapoport said. If he is healthy, this team is constructed to be very, very good. They have elite playmakers, the offensive line is going to be good enough, and they spent on defense in a way this offseason that Joe Burrow is very excited about."
Burrow was injured for most of last season after going down in Week 2 against the Jaguars with a turf toe injury in his left foot. He then returned for the final six games of the season, and finished the year with 1,809 yards, 17 touchdowns, and five interceptions.
Twice before, he has been named NFL Comeback Player of the Year after returning from injury – now, if the Bengals want to return to the playoffs for the first time since 2022, he'll need to make another miraculous return to form.
