A former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and preseason standout has joined the dark side, opting to sign with a fellow AFC North rival — the Baltimore Ravens.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, ex-Steelers quarterback Skylar Thompson is expected to sign with the Baltimore Ravens, bringing their total number of quarterbacks on the roster to five.
Thompson, who was selected by the Miami Dolphins with the 247th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, played three seasons in Miami before signing a reserve/future contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers in January 2025.
Putting together elite performance after elite performance during the 2025 preseason, Thompson managed to earn his spot on the Steelers' initial 53-man roster before being placed on injured reserve with a hamstring injury on September 12.
Thompson now joins a Ravens quarterback room featuring Lamar Jackson, Tyler Huntley, Diego Pavia, and Joe Fagnano, with hopes of eventually earning his way into the QB2 role in Baltimore.
