Making a guest appearance on The Insiders from NFL Network, Rooney claimed that, although he believed the situation would've been resolved by now, there should be an end to Rodgers' waiting game in the "next few weeks."
āWe've been in contact with Aaron on a regular basis," Rooney said. "He's been keeping us up-to-date on his plans. Even though I thought it probably would have been concluded by now, I think we will come to a conclusion here in the next few weeks."
Rooney's comments couldn't have come at a better time, as some in the NFL world began to assume the worst after the Steelers opted to tender Rodgers.
