The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed veteran wide receiver Brandon Johnson for his third stint with the team. Johnson, who previously played for the Denver Broncos, has shown promise despite facing injuries.
The Pittsburgh Steelers made it a mission to address their offense in the 2026 NFL Draft, and while the jury is currently out on the class's overall strength, the team just made another move at wide receiver.
On Monday, KPRC2's Aaron Wilson reported that the Steelers re-signed veteran wide receiver Brandon Johnson, which would mark his third-stint with the team.
Johnson, a promising 6-foot-2 receiver, signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in April 2022. He was waived by the Broncos in August 2024 and signed with the Steelers' practice squad one day later.
Signing a reserve/future contract with the Steelers in January 2025, Johnson went on become a training camp and preseason standout, before an undisclosed foot injury he suffered resulted in being waived by the team.
After a short stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Johnson rejoined the Steelers' practice squad on December 24, 2025. After the Steelers' post-season aspirations were dashed by the Houston Texans, Johnson rejoined the Broncos via the practice squad on January 20, 2026.
