Before their Game 2 matchup against the Boston Bruins at the KeyBank Center, the Buffalo Sabres brought out Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen to bang the drum and hype up the crowd. He also chugged a beer.
Unfortunately for the Sabres, Allen's antics didn't work and his bad playoff luck appeared to rub off on them. After rallying to beat the Bruins in Game 1, they lost Game 2 convincingly, 4-2.
The Bills have never won a Super Bowl and are one of the most cursed franchises in the NFL. Despite being one of the best quarterbacks in the league and winning at least one postseason game in each of the last six years, Allen has never even played in a Super Bowl, let alone won one.
The former MVP has mostly played well in the playoffs, so that's not really his fault. His most recent postseason performance was a disaster, however, as he committed four turnovers in Buffalo's 33-30 loss to the Denver Broncos in the Divisional Round.
The Sabres lost to the Bruins 4-2 in Game 2 after a strong performance in Game 1.

Due to a variety of reasons and pure bad luck, Allen hasn't been able to get his team over the hump in the postseason. Fair or not, he's becoming the poster boy of the Bills' playoff shortcomings, of a team that always comes up short when it matters the most.
And with Allen in the building on Tuesday, so did the Sabres.
