With the 2026 NFL Draft now behind us, itâs time for the Patriots to focus their full attention on potentially trading for Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown after June 1.
If the Patriots acquire Brown, it could lead to another receiver in New England losing their job. Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox suggested that Kayshon Boutte might be a candidate for a trade in the coming months.
"While Keon Coleman has fallen short of expectations, Kayshon Boutte, a 2023 sixth-round pick, has arguably overachieved. The New England Patriots receiver has topped 500 receiving yards in each of the past two seasons," Knox wrote on Wednesday.

"However, Boutte is entering a contract year and could be moved. The Patriots signed Romeo Doubs in free agency and are widely expected to make a push for Philadelphia Eagles wideout A.J. Brown later in the offseason."
Knox mentioned that he believes the value for Boutte could be a 2027 sixth-round pick. This wouldnât be a bad deal for the Patriots, as they will need to rebuild their draft capital, since they will likely have to part with a few picks to acquire Brown.
If the Patriots donât secure Brown, then Boutte should definitely be on the roster this season. However, if they do bring in the star wide receiver, Boutteâs future in New England could be in jeopardy.
