Nick Kyrgios has added another event to his calendar as he continues his comeback during the grass court season.
The Australian hasn’t played since his first-round doubles loss at the Australian Open, and it’s been even longer since he last appeared in singles action back in Brisbane.
Kyrgios has played just seven singles matches over the past four years, but he’s entered three grass court events this summer: Stuttgart, Halle, and Mallorca.
In addition to receiving a wildcard for the ATP event in Halle, Kyrgios has also been confirmed for a new exhibition tournament taking place there.

The Halle Open has introduced a new event to its schedule this year, called the ‘One Point Trophy’. In a unique twist, players will compete over a single point, with the winner taking home €5,000.
Kyrgios is the only player confirmed for the event so far. The match is set for June 14, just one day before the ATP 500 main draw begins.
The idea seems to have been inspired by the Australian Open’s ‘One Point Slam’ held earlier this year.
Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner and Coco Gauff were among those who took part in that popular event, which was ultimately won by amateur Jordan Smith.
Kyrgios was also part of the Australian Open’s ‘One Point Slam’ earlier this year, though he’ll be looking for a stronger showing this time around in Halle.
He managed to win his opening points against Steve Yarwood and Andrey Rublev but was knocked out in the third round after missing a backhand return against Joanna Garland.
Kyrgios played up to the moment by smashing his racket, keeping with the light-hearted nature of the event. Now, with only himself announced so far, he’ll be hoping to make more of an impact in Halle.
His grass court campaign is set to begin before that, as he’s scheduled to play in Stuttgart from June 8. Fans will be watching closely to see how he performs as he looks to get back into form.
