Nico Collins Drops Clear Opinion on Texans Franchise
We learned more about Nico Collins' future plans. The Houston Texans wide receiver updated his vision for the rest of his career. According to Collins, the star wideout would like to finish his career with the Texans.
That news is welcomed by nearly every Texans fan, but may come as a pleasant surprise. Houston Texans on SI writer Jared Koch wrote on what the news means for the Texans in the long term.
"But for as long as the Texans are able to hang onto their star wideout at his current level, he's sure to make this offense look a whole lot better than it would be without him.
Last season with the Texans, he logged a total of 68 receptions, 1,117 yards, and six touchdowns en route to being the team's clear leader in both receptions and yards, while tying atop the leaderboard for touchdowns with rookie Jayden Higgins.
Things might've not ended as ideally as expected in an ugly divisional round loss to the New England Patriots. Especially for Collins, who was forced out for the game due to a concussion that left C.J. Stroud and this overall offensive attack a bit disoriented than usual.
Now, Collins has another offseason to fully prepare for the campaign ahead; one in which he has some pretty high hopes for, when factoring in a productive draft and free agency from the past couple of months."

Collins is unmistakably one of the top pass catchers and downfield threats in the NFL. Retaining him solidifies what will almost certainly make for one of the more dangerous passing offenses in the league as long as Collins and Houston quarterback C.J. Stroud are still in Houston. The Texans still have to make sure the star player stays under contract with the team.
Houston is still imperfect on the offensive side. They will be that way until the Texans can find a permanent fix at the right tackle position and along the offensive line as a whole. Even so, the team has the makings of what could be a playoff caliber offense should it maintain health. The health of the Collins, the multi-year 1,000-yard pass catcher, will be paramount to that success.
Collins says he wants to be a Houston Texan for his whole career. Now, the Texans and Collins will look to win in 2026 and make that a reality for the remainder of his NFL career.
