The No. 1 overall player in the class of 2026, Tyran Stokes, is planning a visit to Kentucky in the coming days, he told Krysten Peek of NBA.com and HoopsHQ in a recent interview.
Stokes, a 5-star small forward, said the visit is expected to take place sometime after the Hoop Summit, marking an important step in his recruitment. The highly touted prospect noted that Kentucky remains firmly in the mix as he evaluates his options.
“I think I will be planning on going to Kentucky sometime this next coming week… anytime after Hoop Summit,” Stokes said.
A key focus of the visit will be building relationships with Kentucky’s coaching staff, which has changed since his last trip to campus. Stokes emphasized the importance of understanding how the staff plans to utilize his skill set.
“It’s a different kind of coaching staff since the last time I was on campus… just being able to go out there, talk to them, get to see what their plan is for me,” he said.
Kansas is also among the schools heavily involved in his recruitment, with Stokes highlighting consistent communication as a major factor. With the transfer portal now open, he is closely monitoring roster movement and how programs are building around potential future pieces.
Stokes indicated he would like to make a decision soon but is not rushing the process. Development remains his top priority as he prepares for the next level, with plans to spend limited time in college.
Kentucky’s upcoming visit could play a significant role in where the nation’s top prospect ultimately lands.
